IMPORTANT:
To
get the CORRECT size in a BLOCKY
DOGS ® Collar, you must measure your DOG
and not the collar your dog is currently wearing.
While the order
form lists general sizes to choose from, since every collar is
made from scratch, your collar can be made in ANY size. Have a
dog with an odd sized neck? Or one that measures on the ½”
? Not a problem!
For correct
size, measure around your dog's neck with a tape measure, without
a collar on, then add three to four inches, depending
on how loose you want the collar. If you don't have a tape measure,
just use a string and then measure the string.
Because
each collar is made specifically for your dog, BLOCKY
DOGS ® regrets
that we are unable to take returns.
If the collar you order and receive turns out to be the wrong
size for your dog, you will be charged to have a new collar made.
Following
the sizing and style guidelines below will help ensure that you
get the collar you want. All orders will be confirmed via email
before we start building it.
BLOCKY
DOGS ® Collars have four sets of holes. It
is recommend that dogs wear their collars
on one of the middle sets of holes to leave room for weight fluctuations
up or down. Even adult dogs experience weight fluxes from time
to time. Typically, dogs wear their BLOCKY
DOGS ® collars on the hole 2" larger
than their actual neck measurement. Collars are listed by largest
size and have four adjustments. Example: a 24" collar is
24" on the last/largest hole setting; 23" and 22"
on the middle holes; and 21" on the smallest hole setting.
By following these measuring guidelines, you can choose how you
want your BLOCKY
DOGS ® collar to fit whether it’s
a growing puppy who needs room for growth or an adult who is finished
growing.

The
above photo shows how to measure, using two of my own American
Bulldogs, AuRoara-Blaze (left) and Montana Blue (Monti,
on the right). Click on either to get a larger view. The
photos show how the neck was measured. I used a tape measure
and measured around the neck in the middle. You can see
that AuRoara's neck measures 21”. Adding 4”
gives me 25” which you can see in the next photo is
what size collar I made for her. Monti's neck measures 23",
so adding 4" would give us a 27" collar.

Both Monti and AuRoara wear their collars on the 2nd hole,
23” hole for AuRoara, 25" hole for Monti
(2” larger than the actual neck measurement).
If you'd like the collar a little tighter or looser, still
measure the same way, you can just fit the collar on a different
hole.
The holes are 1" apart, so each change will loosen
or tighten the collar by 1-inch.

We're
sorry, but we can not make any BLOCKY
DOGS ® collar less than 20"
in length (which is 20", 19", 18", 17"
and will fit a dog whose actual neck is 15" or 16").
If you're adding a Break-in-Stripe™ Design to a
BLOCKY DUAL Grip™
collar, minimum length for the collar is 22".
